On Saturday Sep. 15, 2007 Craig and I were extras in a commercial. It is for a non-profit organization called the Foundation for a Better Life.
Here is the story line of the commercial: A family goes to a piano concert and the little boy wonders off...he gets backstage and starts pounding out twinkle twinkle on a piano...the curtains open and it is the piano on stage...than the real pianist comes out kneels down behind him and starts playing an elaborate accompaniment along with him and tells the kid to keep going. The audience is initially shocked at this then start to enjoy it and everyone claps and is excited. Ends with a standing ovation...and the tag line reads "Encouragement, Pass it On!"
So we were in the audience. It was a long day...but hey, we made $82 each instead of sitting around the house and earning nothing.
Here are some pics from the set...we filmed it in a local theater...they aren't the best because it's from Craig's phone. It's fun to see the Behind the scenes stuff. Craig looks bored in the upper picture because we had been there all day.

That was nice to get paid to mostly just sit. Did you bring a book?
I am pretty sure the church did that same commercial. At least I remember seeing it somewhere before.
Dad
Yes I did bring a book...and my scriptures. That is funny that you said that the church did this commercial already by our friend Ben who was in the commercial with us said the same thing...So they must have already done it. Ben was going to try to find it online but I haven't heard if he found it or not. Everyone wants to copy the churches good ideas!
That looks like a fun little side job. I always wondered how you get into stuff like that. It would be fun to put Mallory in something like that. I don't want to see myself on camera!
How cool! Get paid to spend your Saturday as an extra. What a great memory to share with your kids someday...
Cool, double the money with both of you there! That sstory line is a poem/story that has gone around on the email too. It is a beautiful story, and how neat that you got to be a part of it! Luckies! Keep u the good work with being extra's and one day...who knows????
Sorry, not "comment" from me...I already TALKED to you about this. (It's just feels kind of lame to write the same thing.)
Glad you had fun. Hope to see you on our TV soon!
