Long awaited posts

Our loss...
For those who do not know, we lost our dog Cricket from a car incident. It was very tough losing a good friend. There is a plan and a reason for his passing that we would like to know the reason but that is what this life is all about - a giant frigging tough test. We have cherished every moment with him.

The Holidays

On Christmas morning we went over to Tara and Jon's to watch Allie open her presents with Dave and Claudia since they were staying with us. What Cyndi did not know is that I had a surprise lurking for her also. As she was eating a cinnamon roll and chillin on the couch Jon had let the dogs in the house and she heard a noise coming toward her and to her dismay it was a little black dog with a green bough. She literally jumped back when she saw the dog. The reaction on her face was priceless.

On New Years Day, Cyndi and I woke up at 4 AM! We drove to Pasadena to meet up with Dave and Claudia to watch the all-famous Rose Parade. It was a neat experience. At the start of the parade a stealth bomber flew right over us and that was a cool experience to see something like that so close up. They really went all out with the floats considering they are made of all organic material like roses (hence the name, Rose Parade). There was about 85 different floats and a bunch of marching bands.

After the parade, we went to Ventura for a day to go to Michelle's wedding reception and helped Bianca and Ethan move to Idaho. Or, I mean attempt to help them move since they were already packed up by the time we got there.

On our way back home to Palm Desert I realized that the Jazz were playing the Lakers in LA that night. So I said, why dont we go to the Lakers game on the way home? We ended up driving down there and trying to get some tickets at the booth but the cheapest tickets they had were $225 a piece. Talk about a rip off so we drove home instead.

Great post, Craig. I know it was hard to share your sad news about sweet little cricket. He brought everyone around him so much love and light...there are great memories there.

We are soooo very grateful we could come and spend Christmas at your house and Tara & Jon's. I'm so happy I made it to church to hear your heartfelt version of O Holy Night Sunday. It was FUN having Allie over for our slumber party for FHE. (thanks T&J for sharing her with us) We had a BLAST playing and watching movies and playing and eating healthy things like apple slices (Allies choice) Well, we had yummy treats earlier in the evening. I enjoyed 'getting things ready with you too. Everything was so much fun! I loved our Xmas Eve dinner (Thanks Aunt Joyce), Candy Cane Lane was premium, the dice game and most especially the surprise puzzle you shared with us on Christmas Eve!!!! That was THE BEST! I better write on my blog, instead of making this comment like a post on my blog. Anyway, Good Times! One more thing: LOVED sharing the Parade with you guys!
