Fun in the SUN!

For Presidents Day weekend Craig and I went to Palm Springs to do some business stuff, look for a house, and have some FUN times! We left Wednesday night after my class...unfortunately it was snowing and we did not realize when we left that it would be snowing through the entire state of Utah until St. George. It was really bad but we did make it through the storm safely, it just added a few hours to our trip. Thursday we looked at a houses with an agent in Rancho Mirage, which is a really ritzy area. He didn't have time to show us the other homes he found b/c it was Valentines day so he gave us the addresses and we drove by them to see which ones we would like to walk through on Friday. Friday morning we looked at those other homes then Craig went to Temecula to sell Pest Control (he is just doing it for some extra money and so he can be in Palm Springs often and wrap things up with our business). That evening my mom came in town to be with us too.

Also on Friday Craig had to interview a technician so Tara and I dropped him off and drove around the neighborhood and as we were driving around we came across this house sized chicken...it cracked us up. We turned around a few times and took a picture. Here it is...it busts me up...why would you need a huge chicken in your backyard?Saturday morning Craig had to go to Temecula again (he got 2 sales that day), Tara, Allie, my Mom, and I went to a street fair that they have every weekend at the College of the Deserts. It was so fun! We all really enjoyed it...it was beautiful weather and just fun. I got a couple of T-Shirts for Craig for his birthday. We enjoyed some kettle corn and bought some fresh strawberries, artichokes, and asparagus.

Sunday we went to Sacrament and then Craig, Mom and I went and looked at some more homes and then when we got home....there was a mini surprise party for Craig (b/c it's his birthday this Friday). The day before my mom, Tara and I had planned it and bought a lasagna, etc. for him...it's his favorite. We had the Beatles Birthday Song playing as we walked in the door and Tara had put up some deco's and had the food cooking. It was fun he had no clue and was shocked. We had a delicious meal and then played some games. We played a compatibility game that was fun.
Monday we decided to go to the Joshua Tree National Park and do some GeoCaching. We actually didn't go into the Park b/c it was $15 per car so we just drove around right before the park. It was BEAUTIFUL! Here are some beauty shots of the desert wild flowers!

Here is Craig and I...we had so much fun...we can't wait to move there!!!!
Here is the whole bunch of us...there was a rock and I have a mini-tripod so I set it up and it worked perfectly on the first try!
There were these cool plants that remind me of sea weed. Can you believe that I just snapped this out the window while we were driving...I love it (maybe you don't but I think its cool)
OK so here is our blond moment funny story. Jon printed a bunch of Geo Caches for us to do while we were out, so we were going to do a few. Anyway we picked one called "water, water everywhere" and it said that it was easy terrain so we did it...we used our new TomTom GPS to do the cache...the thing we didn't think about was that the TomTom automatically picks the shortest route so it took us on some dirt roads...and we are driving forever and starting to get nervous about it but not wanting to turn back b/c we had driven so far. We eventually came upon a normal road at a freeway exit. We were very happy. We ended up finishing the Cashe and realizing that it wasn't far off of the freeway exit but since we were in the park it took us through dirt roads b/c it was the most direct route. It was crazy but we finally found it and boy was it an adventure.

This picture was taken off of one of the dirt roads...there were these chairs and fire pit...it cracked us up and Allie said as we drove by "my couch"...it was funny we had to stop and take a picture.
We FOUND the Cache!!!! Hooray!
The reason why it was called "water, water everywhere" is because this thing that we are standing on had water being pumped into the city...we think it's water from the Colorado River. It smelled yummy! But it was kind of SCARY....it was freaking me out that Craig and Jon were standing on top of it b/c the water rushes really FAST and if it broke you would definitely die...SCARY! We were looking through the cracks to see how close the water was to us...it was pretty close. It was interesting.

Yeah! It looks like you guys had so much fun! Love the couches! Good job with the birthday song! I just busted that one out too. I had the hardest time finding it and then it was right under my nose. Anyway, I am glad you made it safe through the storms! I hate that! Tricia and I drove through so many of those at night and boy is it NOT fun! Glad you are safe and had fun!

Great pictures Cyndi. It is good you are on top of blogging because our page would be very out-dated and ugly. By the way, the north temple Wells Fargo is closer than the one downtown. :)
